How credits are charged
What decides the credit price of a generation, where the price is shown before you submit, how plan discounts and validity work, and which tasks still use credits during an unlimited window.
Every generation deducts credits based on the model, the duration, the resolution and the settings you pick. The exact price appears on the Generate button before you submit, so there is no surprise deduction afterwards. Last verified: October 16, 2026.
What sets the price
| Factor | Effect |
|---|---|
| Model | Each model has its own rate; the per-model table is on the pricing page |
| Duration | Longer clips cost more; a 5-second clip is the baseline on the pricing cards |
| Resolution | Higher output tiers cost more per second than 480p |
| Inputs and task type | Reference-video tasks, editing and extending a clip are priced separately from plain text-to-video and image-to-video |
| Plan discount | Lite 10% off, Pro 30% off, Premium 40% off every model's rate |
The pricing cards express the result as a per-video figure for a Seedance 2.0/2.5 clip: about $1.24 on Lite, $0.88 on Pro and $0.57 on Premium monthly, and about 12, 33 and 260 such videos from each plan's monthly credits.
Before you submit
The Generate button shows the credit price for the current settings and updates as you change them. During an active unlimited window it reads Generate (Free) when the free channel applies; when it does not, it shows the credits instead, so you can decide before anything runs.
What still uses credits during an unlimited window
- Video: clips longer than 10 seconds, reference-video tasks, video editing, extending a clip, settings outside the benefit, and every model other than Seedance 2.5 and 2.0. See Seedance 7-day unlimited video.
- Images: settings above the eligible free setting, image-to-image with reference images, and models outside your plan's list. See 365 days of unlimited images.
Validity and top-ups
- Subscription credits are valid for 30 days on every plan, monthly or yearly, and do not roll over.
- Credit packs can be added on any plan without changing it; validity is shown at purchase. Packs include commercial use and never auto-renew.
- If you cancel, existing credits keep their expiry dates.
- Refunds are available within 3 days of purchase if none of that purchase's credits were used, minus payment processing fees of up to 4% plus $1.50; write to support@seeddance.io with your order details.
