On SeedVideo AI, a Seedance 2.5 video took a median of 4 minutes 42 seconds from clicking Generate to a finished clip, measured on 724 jobs between September 15 and October 14, 2026. Three in four were done within 7 minutes 6 seconds, and nine in ten within about 11 and a half minutes. Clip length and resolution decide most of the wait: a 5-second 720p clip took about 3 minutes 22 seconds, a 21 to 30-second 720p clip about 7 minutes, and 1080p took roughly two and a half times as long as 720p. Text-to-video and image-to-video took the same time.

The short answer in numbers

Seedance 2.5, Sept 15 – Oct 14, 2026Result
Finished jobs measured724
Median (half of jobs finished faster)4 min 42 s
75th percentile7 min 6 s
90th percentile11 min 23 s
Finished within 5 minutes54% (388 of 724)
Finished within 10 minutes87% (633 of 724)
Text to video, median / 75th percentile4 min 42 s / 6 min 30 s (62 jobs)
Image to video, median / 75th percentile4 min 43 s / 7 min 12 s (662 jobs)

The time is the whole wait you see: from the moment the job was submitted to the moment the finished file was ready to play, including any time spent waiting for a free slot at the model provider. The section on how we measured lists what was left out.

How long each clip length takes

Longer clips take longer, but not in proportion. A 30-second clip is six times as long as a 5-second one and took about twice as long to make.

Clip lengthJobsMedian75th percentile90th percentile
4–6 seconds2493 min 22 s4 min 28 s8 min 26 s
7–12 seconds1343 min 46 s6 min 24 s12 min 44 s
13–20 seconds2175 min 32 s7 min 59 s15 min 36 s
21–30 seconds1246 min 46 s8 min 7 s11 min 27 s

The 90th percentile is the number to plan around if you are on a deadline: one job in ten took longer than that.

How long each resolution takes

ResolutionJobsMedian75th percentile
480p1764 min 19 s5 min 48 s
720p4854 min 38 s6 min 46 s
1080p6312 min 2 s16 min 4 s

480p saves surprisingly little time over 720p. 1080p is the one setting that changes the wait: plan on 10 to 16 minutes for a 1080p Seedance 2.5 clip.

Length and resolution together

Median and 75th percentile in minutes:seconds, with the number of jobs in brackets. Cells with fewer than 30 jobs are indicative only.

7–12 seconds3:16 / 3:35 (24)3:47 / 5:15 (86)12:38 / 15:53 (24)
13–20 seconds4:22 / 6:01 (52)5:48 / 8:18 (155)16:13 / 17:58 (10)
21–30 seconds5:52 / 7:27 (52)7:05 / 8:03 (61)12:02 / 16:18 (11)

If you are testing a prompt, a 5-second test clip at 480p or 720p comes back in about three to four minutes. Settle the idea there, then spend the long wait once, on the final length and resolution.

Does the time of day matter?

Not much. Grouped by the hour the job was submitted (UTC), the median moved only between 4 min 24 s and 5 min 6 s:

Submitted (UTC)JobsMedian75th percentile
00:00–05:591024 min 56 s7 min 25 s
06:00–11:591325 min 6 s7 min 15 s
12:00–17:593044 min 41 s6 min 52 s
18:00–23:591864 min 24 s6 min 43 s

Week to week the median ranged from 4 min 5 s (week of October 5) to 5 min 18 s (October 12–14, a partial week of 68 jobs).

Is Seedance 2.5 slower than other models?

At the same setting, 5 seconds at 720p (jobs of 4 to 6 seconds), Seedance 2.5 sat in the middle of the pack:

Model, 4–6 s at 720pJobsMedian75th percentile
Kling 3.0551 min 47 s2 min 23 s
Seedance 2.0 Fast342 min 36 s2 min 56 s

Seedance 2.51833 min 22 s4 min 11 s

Across every setting people actually chose, the fastest models were the older, lighter ones:

Seedance 1.5 Pro1301 min 23 s1 min 47 s

Seedance 2.01044 min 16 s6 min 44 s
Seedance 2.57244 min 42 s7 min 6 s

Seedance 2.5 is not the quickest, but it is one of only two models here, with Wan 3.0, that make clips of up to 30 seconds with sound in one pass. If you need many short drafts fast, Seedance 2.0 Mini (which runs on free sign-up credits) or Kling 3.0 turn around in two to three minutes. The text to video and image to video generators keep the same per-model timings next to each model's limits and prices.

Why one job takes longer than another

  • Resolution. 1080p took about 2.6 times as long as 720p at the median.
  • Length. Each extra second adds time, but a 30-second clip took about twice, not six times, as long as a 5-second one.
  • Provider queue. The time includes any wait for a free slot at the model provider. That is the main reason the 90th percentile is two to three times the median even at the same settings.
  • Not the input type. Starting from a photo instead of a text prompt made no measurable difference (4 min 43 s against 4 min 42 s at the median).

If a job runs past the 90th percentile for its setting, give it more time rather than submitting the same job again: a duplicate takes a second slot and is charged separately. A job that fails or is refused is not charged. If a prompt is refused instead, our breakdown of why Seedance refuses prompts covers the causes counted on 11,168 jobs.

How we measured

  • Source. SeedVideo AI's own production job log, read only. Each row is one generation a user started on the site.
  • Window. Jobs submitted from September 15 to October 14, 2026 (UTC).
  • Clock. From the job's creation to its completion time, so it includes provider queueing and saving the finished file.
  • Included. Finished text-to-video and image-to-video jobs. Reference-video and video-editing jobs are measured separately and left out.
  • Excluded. Jobs in Premium's 7-day unlimited mode, which wait in a free queue by design, and draft previews. Failed and refused jobs have no finish time and are not part of these timings.
  • Small samples. A model needs at least 30 finished jobs for a row in the model tables. Cells in the length-by-resolution table with fewer than 30 jobs are marked in brackets.
  • Refresh. The figures are rerun each month with the same query, and the title shows the month of the latest run.

FAQ

How long does Seedance 2.5 take to generate a video?

On SeedVideo AI the median was 4 minutes 42 seconds from submit to finished clip, measured on 724 Seedance 2.5 jobs between September 15 and October 14, 2026. Three in four finished within 7 minutes 6 seconds. A 5-second 720p clip took about 3 minutes 22 seconds; a 1080p clip about 10 to 16 minutes.

How long does a 30-second Seedance 2.5 video take?

Clips of 21 to 30 seconds took a median of 6 minutes 46 seconds across resolutions, and 7 minutes 5 seconds at 720p. That is about twice as long as a 5-second clip, not six times.

Does 1080p take longer than 720p on Seedance 2.5?

Yes. The median was 12 minutes 2 seconds at 1080p against 4 minutes 38 seconds at 720p, about 2.6 times as long. 480p (4 minutes 19 seconds) saved little time over 720p.

Is Seedance 2.5 image to video slower than text to video?

No. Image-to-video jobs had a median of 4 minutes 43 seconds and text-to-video jobs 4 minutes 42 seconds in the same period.

Which video model is fastest?

Among models with at least 30 finished jobs, Seedance 1.0 Pro Fast had the shortest median at 51 seconds, then Seedance 1.5 Pro at 1 minute 23 seconds and Kling 3.0 at 2 minutes 6 seconds. At 5 seconds and 720p, Kling 3.0 was quickest at 1 minute 47 seconds.

Why is my Seedance 2.5 video taking so long?

Most long waits come from 1080p, long clips, or a busy provider queue. One job in ten took more than 11 minutes 23 seconds overall. Avoid submitting the same job twice; a duplicate takes another slot. A failed or refused job is not charged.

Where do these numbers come from?

From SeedVideo AI's own job log: every Seedance 2.5 text-to-video and image-to-video job that finished on the site between September 15 and October 14, 2026, excluding unlimited-mode queue jobs and draft previews. They are refreshed monthly.
